Ask Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok about your PiggyBank
You can talk about your household in Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok the same way you talk about it in the app. Paste one address, sign in with your PiggyBank account, and the assistant uses that household. This is separate from AI Analysis inside the app.
PiggyBank is not in the Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok catalogs yet. You add it yourself with the address below.
The address to paste
Copy this exactly. It is the only URL you need.
Addresshttps://www.piggybankfinances.com/mcp
Claude
- Open claude.ai and sign in.
- Go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors first, then you click Connect.
- Paste https://www.piggybankfinances.com/mcp.
- Choose sign in (not "no sign-in"). Leave client ID and secret empty.
- On the PiggyBank screen, allow read. Allow write only if you want it to create or edit records.
- In a chat, open the + menu and turn the connector on. Ask something like "what is my month budget?"
ChatGPT
Wrong screens
Settings → Plugins on chatgpt.com only lists store plugins you already installed. There is no + there. Codex desktop Add → Create plugin is for packaging a Codex plugin, not for pasting a remote PiggyBank URL. Do not look for PiggyBank in the ChatGPT store. Do not paste the URL into Custom GPT Actions.
Where to paste the URL
Custom MCP is a ChatGPT app (OpenAI used to call it a connector). Developer mode must be on first. Look under Settings → Security and login. Then look for Create under Settings → Apps, Settings → Apps & Connectors, or Settings → Connectors. Menu names move. The Create form is the one that asks for an MCP server URL. Paste https://www.piggybankfinances.com/mcp, pick OAuth, run Scan Tools if you see it, and finish PiggyBank sign-in. Start with read. In a new chat, add the draft app from the composer tools / Developer mode menu.
Company workspace
If you only see installed plugins and no Create, an admin has not turned on Developer mode / Create custom MCP connectors under Workspace settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data. After that, admins create the app under Workspace settings → Apps → Create. OpenAI still documents this as web ChatGPT, not the ChatGPT phone or desktop app.
Grok
xAI calls this a custom MCP connector. PiggyBank is not in the Grok catalog. You add it yourself. The server must be public HTTPS. Localhost will not work unless you tunnel it. Open grok.com/connectors
- Open grok.com/connectors and sign in.
- Click New Connector, then Custom. If you are on Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin may need to provision the connector in the xAI cloud console first.
- Paste https://www.piggybankfinances.com/mcp and finish PiggyBank sign-in when Grok asks.
- Start a chat and ask about this month. Grok should pick up the PiggyBank tools the same way it uses other connectors.
What it can see and change
With read, it can look at who you are, categories, budgets, transactions, debts, savings, members, the dashboard, cash flow, yearly totals, and exchange rates. With write, it can create or update those same records, plus the household name and member roles (not the owner). It cannot create a household, send invites, touch billing, or upload files. Every call is logged under Settings → Agent activity.
If you want to stop
Start with read. Deny a tool if the request looks wrong. Open Settings → Connected agents to revoke access. Agents cannot invite people or become household owner.
Revoke access anytime under Settings → Connected agents. /settings
